Short biography
Dr David Corbet is an educator, writer/editor, visual designer/artist and curator based in Sydney, Australia. He has a PhD from the University of Sydney (USyd) and a Master of Fine Arts (Research) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Earlier he completed interdisciplinary studies at Central St Martins School of Art (part of the University of the Arts) in London.
He teaches into art and design programs at UNSW's Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture (FADA) and the USyd Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). He writes for art and design journals and contributes to academic conferences and forums worldwide, and he has commissioned, edited and designed diverse publications. His personal creative practice encompasses painting, installation, printmaking, video, photomedia and environmental art projects.
He is the founder of the long-established design and communications consultancy DNA Creative Sydney, working with diverse clients on visual identity, broadcast, publishing and spatial design projects. He leads the itinerant contemporary art platform and consultancy, DNA Projects, presenting hybrid art and exhibition projects by emerging artists, designers and photographers, and works with collections, curators, institutions and artists as an exhibition and catalogue designer and editor.
